In recent years, the goals of creating and managing high-quality electronic resources to improve the quality of education and equalizing access to knowledge worldwide have received a lot of attention. One of the prevalent strategies has focused on developing exemplary models of Open Education Resources (OER) that are freely available, identifying barriers to their use in support of economic development, and crafting a research agenda that will lead to best practices for deployment and scale up.Currently, educational institiutions and eLearning providers from around the world offer Open Content resources and important experiences have been gained.
The MAN encourages eLearning practitioners to submit an abstract of their contributions for an eLearning Africa Special Focus Session on OER by January 2008 on the following themes:
- OER Research and Development
- Digital Repository
- Improving Quality of Learning with Electronic Resources
- OER Case Studies
SUBMISSION TYPES:
completed papers, work-in-progress, case studies, and abstracts are accepted. This session will be both in English and French. Those making a successful application for inclusion in the OER Special Focus Session will be offered a significantly reduced eLearning Africa conference registration fee.
