MAN Research THEMES

In recent years, the goals of creating and managing high-quality electronic resources to improve the quality of education and equalizing access to knowledge worldwide have received a lot of attention. One of the prevalent strategies has focused on developing exemplary models of Open Education Resources (OER)  that are freely available, identifying barriers to  their use in support of economic development, and crafting a research agenda that will lead to best practices for deployment and scale up. The MAN Research Agenda is aligned to the International Institute for Educational Planning/UNESCO Community of Interest suggested research agenda on OER with particular focus on Best Practices for OER Design, Adoption and Deployment. Further research questions and interests focus on case studies fo reducing costs of e-learning deployment using OER, achieving independence and internationalization, developing national and regional capacities, security and autonomy, fostering local and contextual knowledge bases and services and addressing the issues of intellectual property rights.
